Document & Book Scanners in Singapore
In short: Micrographics Data supplies document, book, production and film scanners from Ricoh, InoTec, Book2net, Treventus, CZUR and Plustek — chosen by daily volume and document type rather than by brand — with installation, operator training, capture software and warranty service handled in Singapore.
The same equipment runs our own scanning bureau, so recommendations come from operating it, not from a catalogue.
Start with what you scan, not who makes it
Book scanners
Overhead cradle and V-shaped scanners for bound volumes, rare books and registers — no spine cutting.
Production document scanners
100–200+ ppm duplex with 500–1,000 sheet feeders for backfile conversion and bureau work.
Desktop and network scanners
40–90 ppm duplex for departments, clinics and mailrooms; scan-to-network without a PC.
Overhead and cradle scanners
Entry-level overhead capture with page-flattening for offices and libraries scanning bound material occasionally.
Flatbed and A3 scanners
Flatbed and sheet-fed A3 for mixed, fragile or thick originals, photographs and artwork.
Film and photo scanners
35mm slide, negative and medium-format film scanners with infrared dust removal.
Match the scanner class to daily volume
A document scanner is rated by pages per minute (ppm), duty cycle (pages per day the mechanism is designed for) and feeder capacity. Buying below your duty cycle wears rollers and jams feeders; buying far above it pays for speed you never use.
Bound volumes, fragile or oversize originals change the class entirely — no sheet-feeder handles them. Tell us the mix and we will size the unit, or quote the job as a service instead.
Authorised brands, serviced locally
Ricoh (formerly Fujitsu fi-series)
Desktop to production document scanners with PaperStream capture.
InoTec
German-built SCAMAX production scanners for high-volume bureaux.
Book2net
Professional book scanners for libraries and archives.
CZUR
Affordable overhead book and document scanners.
Plustek
Compact document, network and film scanners.
Government agencies and statutory boards procure through GeBIZ, where Micrographics Data is a registered supplier.
We quote both ways
Ongoing day-forward capture usually justifies equipment. A one-off backfile, bound or fragile material, or heavy indexing usually favours our bureau. Send the volumes and we will show the comparison.

Buying a scanner in Singapore
Microfilm reader-scanners and production microfilm scanners are under Microfilm Equipment.
Which scanner do we need for our volume?
Under 3,000 pages a day, a desktop duplex scanner at 40–90 ppm. From 3,000 to 30,000, a production scanner at 100–200 ppm with a 500-plus sheet feeder. Above that, or for bureau work, multiple production units with capture software. Bound material at any volume needs a book scanner.
What is the difference between a book scanner and a document scanner?
A document scanner feeds loose sheets through rollers and cannot take a bound volume without cutting the spine. A book scanner images the open book from above on a flat or V-shaped cradle and corrects page curvature in software. Book2net and Treventus are the professional options; CZUR is the entry level.
Do you install, train and service the equipment?
Yes. Every scanner is delivered, installed and commissioned by our Singapore technicians, with operator training and software setup. Warranty service, consumables and maintenance contracts are handled locally.
Which capture software do you supply?
Manufacturer bundles such as PaperStream and Book2net Easy Scan, plus ABBYY-based OCR and indexing where a DMS workflow is required. We configure PDF/A, searchable PDF and TIFF output and integration with your DMS.
Buy a scanner or outsource the scanning?
Buy when volume is ongoing and staff time is available. Outsource when it is a one-off backfile, when documents are fragile or bound, or when indexing and QC labour would exceed the equipment cost. We offer both and quote both ways.
Do you sell refurbished or ex-demo scanners?
From time to time ex-demonstration and ex-bureau production scanners are available with service history and warranty. Ask when requesting a quotation.
Are you an authorised distributor?
Yes. Micrographics Data is the appointed Singapore distributor or authorised reseller for the brands on this page, which is what allows us to offer manufacturer warranty, genuine consumables and firmware support locally.
Tell us your document mix and daily volume
We recommend a model, arrange a demonstration on your own documents, and prepare GeBIZ paperwork where needed.
