InoTec SCAMAX Production Scanners in Singapore
In short: SCAMAX is a production range, not an office range. Heavy transport, large feeders and duty cycles built for scanning that runs all shift — the class of machine a bureau or a national backfile programme specifies. Three series: 3x1 mid-volume, 6x1 high-throughput, 8x1 floor-standing at 160–300 ppm.
If your daily volume is under about 3,000 pages, the Ricoh fi-series is the right answer and costs a fraction as much. SCAMAX earns its place when the scanner never stops.
Start with daily volume, then with the paper
Series decides the transport and feeder; the model number within a series decides sustained speed. Mixed, stapled or damaged stock pushes you up a series rather than up a model.
SCAMAX 3x1 series
Records departments and smaller bureaux running daily batch capture on mixed office paper.
Production transport in a desk-friendly footprint.
SCAMAX 6x1 series
Bureaux and agencies converting boxed backfile alongside day-forward capture.
120–210 ppm with large-capacity feeding.
SCAMAX 8x1 series
Service bureaux and national-scale programmes scanning through a full shift.
Floor-standing, 160–300 ppm.
The SCAMAX range

3x1 entry model — desk-friendly production scanner for mid-volume batch work.
SCAMAX 321
3x1 higher-throughput variant for sustained mid-volume production.
SCAMAX 601

8x1 entry model — floor-standing transport built for continuous running.
SCAMAX 811
8x1 Model 811 rated to 220 sheets per minute, A4 landscape.
SCAMAX 821
8x1 flagship for the highest sustained duty in the range.
Series, duty and throughput
Throughput figures are manufacturer (DATAWIN GmbH) published ranges for A4 landscape; sustained rate on your own stock depends on condition, mixed sizes and image settings. We run a test batch of your documents before quoting.
Government agencies, statutory boards and public universities procure through GeBIZ, where Micrographics Data is a registered supplier. Tender-ready specifications and compliance statements are supplied on request.
Production scanners are quoted installed, with consumable and service-contract options priced separately so the running cost is visible before you commit.
We quote both ways
A production scanner pays for itself on ongoing day-forward capture with trained operators. A one-off backfile of boxed records usually costs less through our bureau, where the same class of machine is already staffed and running.
Specifying a SCAMAX in Singapore
Desktop and departmental scanners are under Ricoh Document Scanners; bound volumes belong on a book scanner.
Which SCAMAX series do we need?
Work from sustained daily volume. The 3x1 series covers mid-volume departmental production at 100–120 ppm. The 6x1 series is the bureau workhorse at 120–210 ppm. The 8x1 series is floor-standing, 160–300 ppm, for continuous shift work. If none of those numbers are constraining, you are looking at the wrong range.
What is the difference between InoTec and Ricoh?
Ricoh fi-series is the volume workhorse for offices and departments, from entry-level ADF to heavy-duty desktop. InoTec SCAMAX is German-built for bureau-grade continuous running: heavier transport, larger feeders and higher duty cycles. Bureaux and national-scale programmes generally specify InoTec; departments specify Ricoh.
Why does double-feed detection matter so much on production work?
Ultrasonic sensors detect two sheets travelling together and stop the scan. At 200 sheets per minute, a missed page is not noticed by an operator — it is noticed years later when someone needs the document. For records with legal or audit value this is the single most important feature in the machine.
Can SCAMAX handle damaged, stapled or mixed-size paper?
Production transports tolerate mixed sizes and thicknesses and handle ordinary office paper in poor condition, but nothing bound, stapled or torn should enter a feed path. Preparation — removing fasteners, repairing tears, flagging fragile items — is a real part of the project cost, and we scope it with you.
What does a production scanner need from the room?
Floor space around the feeder and stacker for an operator to work, a stable power supply, and a network path to wherever images land. The 8x1 units are floor-standing and heavy; we survey access, lift dimensions and floor loading before delivery.
Do you install and service InoTec in Singapore?
Yes. Micrographics Data delivers, installs and commissions SCAMAX in Singapore, trains operators on your own material, and supplies consumables and preventive-maintenance contracts locally.
Should we buy a SCAMAX or use your bureau?
Buy when capture is ongoing and you have staff to run it. Outsource a one-off backfile: the machine, the operators and the QC are already in place at our bureau, and you pay per page rather than per shift. We quote both ways so the comparison is on the table.
Send us a box of your worst paper
We run it through the series you are considering and quote on the throughput you actually get, not the brochure figure.
