Plustek OpticSlim 1680

In short: A fast A3 flatbed: about 5 seconds for an A3 colour page at 300 dpi and 3 seconds in greyscale. It suits plans, drawings, artwork and two-page book spreads.

How it works

Nothing moves but the sensor

On a flatbed the original lies still on glass while the sensor travels underneath. Nothing grips, bends or feeds the page, so thick, mounted, folded, torn or brittle items can be scanned safely.

That is why a flatbed sits beside even the fastest feeder: the items a feeder cannot take are exactly the ones that otherwise never get scanned.

Originals larger than A3, or too fragile to place face down, need overhead capture. We supply book and large-format scanners and also scan as a bureau.

Government buyers procure through GeBIZ, where Micrographics Data is a registered supplier.

FAQ

OpticSlim 1680 questions

See the full range under Plustek Scanners.

Can it scan books?

It takes a two-page spread of a book that opens flat. For volumes that should not be pressed flat, use an OpticBook or an overhead book scanner.

Why buy a flatbed when a feeder is faster?

A feeder cannot take mounted, brittle, folded or oversize originals. A flatbed beside a feeder is what makes a file complete.

Can a flatbed scan negatives or slides?

Not to archival quality. Film needs a dedicated light path; see the Plustek OpticFilm range under Film & Photo Scanners.

Do you supply and support Plustek in Singapore?

Yes. Micrographics Data supplies Plustek in Singapore with setup, software installation and local warranty handling. GeBIZ quotations on request.

What are you scanning, and how big is it?

Send us a sample. We scan it, recommend a model and quote purchase against our bureau service.
