Book2net Kiosk Light A2+ Book Scanner
In short: A cost-effective, space-saving A2+ overhead scanner for archive work. A CMOS area sensor with global shutter captures a colour double page at 400 ppi in 0.3 seconds, over a fixed book table with a 12 cm depth of field.
For a self-adjusting cradle and 600 ppi, see the Kiosk Profi A2; for patron self-service, the Kiosk Public. Built by Microbox GmbH in Bad Nauheim, Germany.

A fixed table and a deep focus zone
The Kiosk Light uses a fixed support table with an object-friendly surface instead of a moving cradle. Material lies face up and the camera captures from directly above, so pages are never pressed face-down as on a copier.
A 12 cm depth of field keeps a thick volume sharp across the spread. LED lighting with Fresnel lenses strikes the page at 45°, which avoids reflections, and a full cycle of scanning, imaging and storage takes about 2.2 seconds.

The Book2net range
Choose by how far the binding safely opens, the largest format, and how much material there is.
For fragile bindings that should not open flat, use a V-shape model such as the Falcon or Lizard.
Government buyers procure through GeBIZ, where Micrographics Data is a registered supplier.
What is the Book2net Kiosk Light?
An A2+ overhead book and document scanner with a fixed book table, positioned by the manufacturer as a cost-effective, space-saving scanner for archives. It captures a colour double page at 400 ppi in 0.3 seconds.
Kiosk Light or Kiosk Profi?
The Kiosk Light has a fixed book table and scans at 300 or 400 ppi. The Kiosk Profi adds a self-adjusting cradle with 15 cm height compensation, a removable Makrolon plate and 600 ppi. Choose the Light for files, loose sheets and robust volumes; the Profi for thick bound volumes.
How much does the Kiosk Light cost?
It is quoted per configuration — resolution, screen, software, workstation, training and support all change the figure. Micrographics Data issues a written quotation, and a GeBIZ quotation for government agencies and statutory boards.
Which file formats does it produce?
TIFF, JPEG and PDF, with optional OCR for searchable PDF. Easy Scan handles cropping, alignment, finger removal and page splitting.
Should we buy or use your bureau?
Buy where material cannot leave the building, the programme runs for years, or staff can operate the scanner part-time. Use the bureau for a one-off collection, a deadline, or material needing conservation attention first.
What are you scanning, and how much of it?
Send the formats and volumes; we confirm whether the Kiosk Light or a cradle model fits and quote the configuration.
