Plustek Film & Photo Scanners
In short: Dedicated film scanners for 35 mm slides and negatives (OpticFilm 8200i AI, 8100, 135i) and 120 medium format (OpticFilm 120), plus the ePhoto Z300 for prints. The 8200i AI, at 7200 dpi and 48-bit with infrared dust removal, is the reference desktop film scanner for slide and negative collections.
For large slide collections, the same scanners and SilverFast workflow run in our 35 mm slide and negative scanning bureau.

We quote both ways
A desktop film scanner suits an ongoing collection and someone with time to run it — a slide takes a minute or more at archival resolution. Thousands of slides, or fragile bound material, usually favour our bureau.
Buying a Plustek film scanner in Singapore
Flatbed, book, workgroup, network and ID scanners are under Plustek Scanners.
Which Plustek scanner is best for 35 mm slides and negatives?
The OpticFilm 8200i AI: 7200 dpi optical, 48-bit colour and an infrared channel that detects dust and scratches for automatic removal, with SilverFast Ai Studio and IT8 calibration for colour-accurate archival scans. The 8100 is the same scanner without infrared; the 135i adds motorised feed for batch work.
What resolution do I need for slides?
A 35 mm frame at 3000–4000 dpi gives a 12–20 megapixel file suitable for A3 prints and archival masters. The OpticFilm 8200i scans up to 7200 dpi; 3600 dpi is a practical archival setting balancing detail, file size and speed.
What is infrared dust removal?
A fourth scanning channel in infrared light sees dust and scratches but not the dye image, so software can identify and fill defects without softening the picture. Plustek calls it iSRD. It works on colour film and slides, not on silver-based black-and-white negatives.
Can Plustek scan medium-format 120 film?
Yes — the OpticFilm 120 handles 120 roll film from 6×4.5 to 6×12 as well as 35 mm, with a CCD sensor and LED light source.
Are Plustek scanners suitable for archival work?
For 35 mm and 120 film, the OpticFilm range with SilverFast and IT8 calibration produces colour-managed archival scans at a desktop price. For paper and books, Plustek is an office and reading-room tool; archival-grade book digitisation is done on Book2net systems.
Buy a film scanner or use your slide scanning service?
Buy when you have an ongoing collection and time to operate a scanner — a slide takes a minute or more at archival resolution. For thousands of slides or negatives, our 35 mm scanning service is faster and includes cleaning, colour correction and indexing.
